RedBlack Consulting (RBC) is a semester-long, student-run internship program within UMD AMA. Our mission is to enhance UMD AMA members’ marketing capabilities through experiential learning, skills workshops, and collaboration while supporting the growth of local businesses.
Each team is led by an Account Manager and consists of four to five student consultants who collaborate throughout the semester to deliver tailored marketing solutions for a local client.
Teams engage in regular client meetings to conduct in-depth analyses of target markets, assess social media presence, and evaluate strategic positioning. Throughout this process, consultants to develop actionable marketing strategies designed to drive sustainable growth and long-term impact for our clients.

Engage/sponsor consulting projects
By facilitating a consulting project with UMD AMA, organizations are able to engage with driven marketing students who are eager to learn and practice their consulting skills. Projects include branding, market research, content creation, social media marketing, and more.

Get advice for my venture
Through engaging with UMD AMA, a team of 4-5 students will work throughout the semester to provide advice and ideas for marketing their assigned organization. They also can take it one step further and implement the advice given in order to drive real results.

Recruit interns & hire future grads
By engaging with the UMD AMA, student teams will be able to demonstrate their marketing expertise and business acumen through engaging semester-long projects. Students can continue working on projects after the project term by being offered internships or employment opportunities.
