The Maryland Energy Innovation Accelerator (MEIA) was created in 2019 by the Maryland Clean Energy Center (MCEC). MCEC has an economic development mission to advance the adoption of clean energy, and energy efficiency products, services and technologies. MEIA's mission is to create investable clean energy businesses. An investable business has the momentum and credibility to obtain third party investment to grow its operations and launch/grow its business. MEIA supports this mission by supporting early stage technologies through both its accelerator program and Tech2Market services. MEIA’s Tech2Market services provide inventors & researchers required resources to be able to complete Federal and state grant programs. MEIA’s accelerator program is a 6-month program involving building a team of able and experienced executives around a specific technology or inventor to complete commercialization milestones.

MEIA's Energy-Executive-in-Residence program is ideal for entrepreneurs, current or retired executives, or people who want to explore the routine & lifestyle of being a co-Founder or Board Member of a clean energy technology company. Each team has a consulting budget that can be used to hire EEIRs to perform needed business activities. You will be accountable to the team leader and the team's Project Manager for delivering work product and participating in the team's strategic planning and customer discovery activities.
