The Innovation & Entrepreneurship minor equips students with the knowledge and skills to ramp up their own businesses, as well as to innovate and think creatively about problem-solving and strategy. The minor admits new students each spring, with applications available from December to February. Applicants provide general information, answer essay questions, and submit the contact information of a University of Maryland, College Park faculty member to provide a recommendation. The Smith School Innovation and Entrepreneurship Minor is an excellent entry point for students to get involved in Dingman Center programs. Students who are working on a business idea in the Entrepreneurship (BMGT461) class participate in Terp Marketplace and may take advantage of Dingman Fridays advising hours to grow their venture from a class project to a viable business.
