Senior Veterans Business Specialist, Mid-Atlantic Veterans Business Outreach Center (VBOC)

Wynne Briscoe serves as the Senior Veterans Business Specialist for the Mid-Atlantic Veterans Business Outreach Center (VBOC). Serving veteran and military-connected entrepreneurs in Maryland, Delaware, Washington, DC and Northern Virginia. The Mid-Atlantic Veterans Business Outreach Center (VBOC) aims to be the connective tissue that links programs, services, and resources throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. We strive to create a comprehensive network of support opportunities for servicemembers, veterans, military retirees, military/veteran spouses and dependents, National Guard members, reservists, and otherwise military-connected entrepreneurs.The Mid-Atlantic Veterans Business Outreach Center is funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration.

Briscoe is a graduate of the University of Maryland with a bachelor’s degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice, minor in Business with a concentration in Business Law. She has more 30 years of entrepreneurship and business ownership experience to include retail, professional services, technology and manufacturing. Since 2001, Briscoe has successfully consulted and advised entrepreneurs, businesses, and non-profit organizations. She is known for her creativity and innovation in the development of new businesses by offering in-depth experience and assisting them from concept to profitability to exit strategy.

Briscoe previously served as the Director of the Southern Maryland regional office for  the Maryland Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at the College of Southern Maryland (CSM). Prior to this role, Briscoe served as the SBDC business, management, technology and manufacturing consultant. 

She has received numerous awards in recognition of her exemplary performance and commitment to small businesses. Most recently, the 2017 Maryland Governor’s Citation in Recognizing Small, Minority and Women-Owned Businesses; the 2019 America’s SBDC Maryland State Star; and the 2019 St. Mary’s County Commissioners’ Small Business Proclamation.
